Clothing

Choose tones that work well together and look good on you. You don't want to wear a color that washes out your face or make you look ill. Find a color that pinks your skin up. While white and cream are a favorite there needs to be a good contrast between your skin and your clothing. This includes staying away from any color that is close to your skin tone that won't offer any contrast. When in doubt choose colors from the season, nature has the best color pallet! My favorite colors for photos are your greens, blues, browns and black for a base color with one or two other accent colors. But stay away from bright colors especially bright yellow, orange and pink who take the attention away from your face.

Keep it simple or mix it up. Sometimes it is just easier to have everyone matching but don't be afraid to add a color or two. Even adding different textures to the mix creates an interesting look. Textures are found in materials such as jeans, lace, and knitted clothing. They can really make your pictures pop.

Please avoid clothing that is too tight or uncomfortable to wear. It will all show in the photos. This goes for cap sleeves that show off the biggest part of our arms. The less skin we see the thinner we look. Layers are a quick fix that can help hide those little imperfections. Stay away from clothing that has logos or patterns that are distractions and anything that will make the picture look dated in a few years.
